Powerbitches Salon: Alexis Barad-Cutler on Changing the Dialogue Around Motherhood

This event is open to members and non-members. RSVP here.

Alexis Barad-Cutler founded Not Safe For Mom Group (NSFMG) in July 2018 after a well-known parenting website took down an essay she had written for them because it was "too controversial." She wanted to create a stigma-free platform and community where women could express the thoughts, feelings, and questions they don't talk about anywhere else.

These days, NSFMG boasts a 6000+ on and offline community that opens up a much-needed dialogue about topics women have not been given the opportunity, or the permission, to share. NSFMG members engage in honest, deep diving conversations about everything from post-baby sex, to rage, to infertility, to gender disappointment, to post-partum depression and anxiety. The result is a community of support (and window into contemporary motherhood) you'd be hardpressed to find in today's polished social media landscape.

Join Alexis and Powerbitches founder Rachel Hills for an intimate and interactive conversation about building online community, facilitating conversations on sensitive issues, and changing the public dialogue around motherhood.

Ticket includes sit-down dinner, drinks, and networking opportunities with some of New York's top womxn influencers and innovators. In order to maintain the intimacy of the Salon, only 12 tickets will be put on sale - so get in early to secure yours.

NB: This event will be held at a private home in Williamsburg. Apartment number and contact details will be sent to attendees 48 hours before the event. Please let us know any dietary restrictions and we will do our best to meet them.
