In an age where most people are thinking digital, Attia Taylor believes that print still has a powerful role to play.
Taylor is the founder and editor-in-chief of Womanly Magazine, which publishes fact-based, soul-infused health information targeted specifically at the concerns and experiences of women of color, delving into subject matter such as discrimination in the healthcare system, intergenerational trauma, maternal health, and sexual health and expression with a depth and authenticity rarely seen in other women’s media.
Since 2017, Taylor has built a team of 40 volunteers, leveraged distribution partnerships with health and community centers in New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Oakland, and created a publication whose distinctive voice and purpose is making waves and impact… all while holding down her day job at Planned Parenthood.
Join Attia and Powerbitches founder Rachel Hills at Powerbitches’ March Salon, for an intimate and interactive conversation about how she has brought Womanly to life, how she manages her rich and multifaceted work life, and the specific health challenges facing women of color.
Powerbitches Salons offer a unique seat at the table with womxn whose work is transforming culture and disrupting old power dynamics, held over an intimate three-course vegetarian dinner.
In order to maintain the intimacy of the Salon, only 14 tickets will be put on sale - so get in early to secure yours.
