Curated Conversation: The female lifestyle empowerment brand

Following our conversation on The Wing and feminist business on April 3, we're hosting our next article club on PB member Kelly Diels's concept of "The Female Lifestyle Empowerment Brand."

The Female Lifestyle Empowerment Brand is a formula for women's success that draws together "the archetypes women are told we must comply with in order to be deserving of rights and resources" (think thin, young, rich, white, able-bodied...) and "a marketing strategy that leverages social status and white privilege to create authority over other women." It's pervasive on Instagram, at women's empowerment conferences, and anywhere that markets to women.

Come to the call prepared to reflect on how you've seen the Female Lifestyle Empowerment show up in your work life, the ways you might be (unwittingly or otherwise) employing in your business/social media, as well as ways we can resist it as we market our work and organizations.
